  • Just starting to mod suspension

Does anyone have any links or advice on suspension mods for someone just starting to work on it. I need basic info on what is best to begin with and what different mods will do for me.
Thanks a lot for any help.

Depends on what you want. Drag or road racing or perhaps a little of each?

Well what sparked my interest was when I read a post in the drag forum about upgrading this type of thing and not so much adding power mods. In particular, something about Little G, and I see he is running mid 13's.
I'm not expecting to run 13's just with suspension work, but that is kind of my question.
What things can I do to compliment my other upgrades? I guess to answer your question, drag is probably more what I would work on.

lower control arms and a panhard bar designed for drag would be a good start.

LCA's are a good place to start and there cheap(around $100 bucks). panhard isnt going to make a whole lot of difference in drag, but is better for handling. then a torque arm. lca's and a torque arm are a very good combo for the track.

well, panhard might help a bit with wheel hop, and its a cheaper alternative to the torque arm.

Also LCA brakets even if you are not lowered, you might lower it later anyway. I would do Brackets, Box LCA's and A panhard bar to start, then some SFC's.

1st thing you should do or anybody should do is get a set of subframe connectors.. I have the weld on macs.. They were 119.00.. Best suspension mod I have ever done.. after that LCA's, TQ arm, Springs, and shocks, then a PHB..

I read that LCA's make the car pretty noisy. I dont have any wheel hop or anything, so would it still be worth it?

What makes them noise is the poly bushings.. I would start out with subframes and see if you need any more parts from there..

a panhard is prolly the last thing I would do to a drag car. All the panhard does is keep the rear from moving left and right. It does nothing for straight line traction.

LCAs and relo brackets, shocks, torque arm, front k-member & a-arms, sfc's

That's the order I would choose.
