I am going to be replacing my front shocks and noticed that Bilteins HD are pretty expensive. So I was thinking of either saving up and buying those or if anyone can recomend another less expensive namebrand please tell me. Has anyone had a good experience with any other namebrands.

    Re: front shocks

I just installed KYB GR-2 on the front and rear of my '94 Bird along with Canuck Motorsport lowering springs.
I'm very pleased with the ride and the car looks great sitting lower.
If you're going to replace your shocks you may want to consider replacing the springs (if you've been considering it) at the same time.

Okay thanks for suggesting that. I didnt really think about the springs, do I have to? I dont care about ride height I just want to change the shocks. How much did they cost? And did you have to order them online or do they sell them in the auto part stores? Thanks again for responding. Later

No you don't have to change your springs, bilsteins and other good shocks work well with the stock springs. I have Koni Sports with stock springs and everything is excellent handling wise ( it is 3240lbs with full tank, has monster swaybars F/R, and wide sticky tires too...)

I'd save up for Bilstein HDs if you are not going to need the adjustability (for track sessions/autocross runs). If you want adjustability then KYB AGXs or Koni Sports are good choices, with Koni being the better choice of two but at a much higher price. I would reccomend Tokico Illumina's over KYB AGX's, but there is only a rear application for the 93-02 Camaros. The KYB GR-2 is a stock shock replacement, not much of an upgrade performance wise. Makes it good for a daily driver.
