I have a set of tubular sfc for my camaro and I know they attach parallel to each other near the rocker panels.
But I was wondering if anyone has a pic of it installed on their car? or a pic at all? i'm trying to explain it to a mechanic that usually just does engine rebuilds plus he doesn't speak English very well either so he's not really sure on it.
so if anyone can please post a pic it would help alot!
Mine look like that but their black BMR "tubular" which give you more clearance than others, liked that boxed onesthey tuck up under nicely where you don't know that their on there. I had bolts in mine then I welded them in also. You can really tell once you ride in your car when you add subframes , you feel like you can take corners at 60MPH.LOL They really stiffen the body up for sure.

well i took it to the guy and we lined it up and it fits fine however the mechanic is unsure about welding it in the frame. he said its going to be alot of welding to hold it in place and that that heat could scorch my carpet and start a fire? he just doesn't want to take the chance; any advice or is it ok?
no sir, mine are welded in and i helped install them---no problem whatsoever. the weld doesn't go the entire length of the bar, just the contact areas on the ends.
tell ur guy to suck it up and do it haha. your interior is in no danger.
Mine were welded in too. My mechanic said he had to open his shop doors due to all the smoke (lots of welds!) that was created. Welding them in is the only way to go (so I'm told).
Just watch out for the fuel lines on the driver side.... I learned that one the hard way... :P
lmao, I imagine that's a very hard lesson to learn. I remember you saying somethin about that however long ago that was. Scared me about doin mine so I was very careful.
Yeah, I rigged up a heat sheild out of a sheet of tin I had laying around from roofing after than and avoided further problems. But let me tell you..I couldn't see any flames through the welding mask so I had no idea what was happening until my dad started yelling at me to get out, lifted the mask and bam big fireball haha.
