My point is, GM could bring back all their old 'muscle cars' exactly as they were in their day, and people would still ***** about it. </font>
nope...
I just bought a focus. GM lost my business when they killed the fbodies and overpriced the cobalt SS supercharged.

You know the new ones out perform those gas guzzling heavy piece of craps the old ones were right?

As opposed to the old GTO, that was a gigantic V8 bleak looking car? That was a spitting image of a Grand Prix in its time, and just about every other Pontiac out there? Also very similar to other sedans? Test drive a GTO. The new GTO carries the old name to the tee (or however you say that), except its more refined and better made.

I have no complaints about the Solstice and Sky. Why can Ford please Mustang lovers but GM cant please us?
So base the entire population of car buyers off a v6 F-body board?
You all hear SS and expect larger than life.
This isn't a flame war, just countering your thoughts.

Overpriced?? The car was going for like 20500 with the GM employee discount. Not bad for a mid 14 second car.
GM lost my busines when I bought my Matrix, not out of spite because they killed the fbody, but because the cavy was a POS.
If they would have had the Cobalt, I would have deffinately gone with that.

You people that want a RWD car kill me. MOST have not ever had to drive in snow. 300hp is 300hp, whether or not it is FWD or RWD doesn't matter. I really like those new DOD engines on the new cars, and the styling on the 2006 Monte Carlo.
1995 Pontiac Firebird
2008 Chevrolet Silverado LT Crew Cab 4x4
The current 3800 N/A Monte's will beat their 1980's V8 counterparts stock for stock. The supercharged SS wouldn't even be a race.
The supercharged Impala is only a hair slower than the mid 90's LT1 Impalas
The new GTO utterly decimates it's 60's counterpart in handling and in the 1/4. I mean ****, my slow *** 4 banger would give a stock old GTO a good run for it's money. And in my personal opinion, the old GTOs are *** ugly.
Besides, what about the sigma or whatever platform that wasn't cancelled, is going to be a RWD platform. GMs current line is 100x better then 5 years ago. 5 Years ago, the only performance car's GM offered were the Fbodies, GTPs and the Vettes.
Atleast now we have a 400 HP GTO, 300 HP Monte Carlo, 260 HP GPGTP, 200 HP Soltice, Sky and Cobalt SS.

I have driven in the snow... and I am sure a FWD car woudl be better... but guess what I never see snow, honestly only seen snow 4 times in my life. Thats right I am 23 years old and only seen snow 4 times in my life. I am sure there are tons of people in FL, TX, and California, 3 of the largest populated states in the US agree... and of course all the states in between.
Not saying everything has to be RWD manual tranny but, unless I have $35,000 for a new car, I can't have anything with rwd and a manual tranny.
If they made the gtp, monte carlo and such rwd, and autos I would look at them more, but still want a manual tranny.
I am not *****ing that GM doesn't make it, if they don't want to make it fine, I'll go buy a mustang. But don't sell me on a car I don't ****ing want.

eh, ive driven in the snow before, it wasnt THAT bad, but it wasnt fun. i dont drive the camaro in the winter. RWD is fun, FWD is practical, but it puts me to sleep.
I'm not sure where everyone is getting that they are $35k, the GXP's are selling in the upper 20's. As far as speed is concerned, one has run 13.9@102 and another has run a 14.0@97-98 in 90 degree air. The WORST track time from a GXP is 14.4@97. GXP's are more performance orientated the the Monte and Impala, and is most likely a little quicker. Some differences are lightweight forged rims, 255's in the front, and better brakes/suspension.

I never said tehy cost $35k.
I am saying the GTO costs $35k... If I want something that is RWD and sport its looking to cost me $35k.
I know the sky is coming out but its not my cup of tea, I don't want a 2 seater convertable roadster.

The GTO costs 33 g's.
I paid 30 with the GM discount. Sooo there :D
Oh, and for comparison. If you want something else thats RWD and "sporty", there is the $38K 350Z, or the $38K G35, or the $33K RX-8. The GT's around here were selling for $35K and the Vert's were selling for $40K!!!
Sooo, why aren't people pissed off at these companies?

Reason why they are selling so high is their is nothing in the class to compete with.
Reason why your GTOs are selling less then $35k, is because they were selling like ***, and they needed to move inventory, same reason why they did the "employee pricing" then extended it over and over.
