Robert or Steve, I have seen info being posted on this site for a long time now, but I think with the time that has passed, some of this info is either outdated, or unheard of without doing major searches. I think new members need to do their searches whenever possible, but when is just leading these noobs to the search too much? I think we need to do some serious remodeling of some of the technical databases, get up to speed with some of the competition of the 3.4l and 3.8l Fbody websites.

The whole reason this website was started was to provide information on all V6 Fbodies, and we are in the rear to our competition, which was started by BANNED members of this site. I think we need to get something going on updating some of these forums, like the reviews, the review submissions, and the How To forums, as well as the technical databases. Maybe a thread can be started to generate some interest into getting more people who have some experience with installations, builds, that sort of thing to do a written submission on reviews, or some good written How To instructions.

Lets not fall behind our competition.

Sounds like a good idea. I've posted up a few writeups before, and had at least 1 thread stickied. The site definitely needs this kind of thing.

      AMEN!

I would love to see something more because I'm getting burnt seeing the same stuff in the tech forums and the serious lack of balls, guts, whatever you want to call it causing the people to ask about the simplest things. I swear I will kill over if i see someone asking how to change their air filter and at the rate the members are going, its coming. The whole searching thing which i was brought up on here is a total sham. I'm sure many search but that does not negate the fact that many people post the same things over and over. There are several reasons for this including people do not care and post knowing they were suppose to search, and people like myself who try to stick to self-education are treated like Nazis. I believe in self-educating yourself which brings apon pride but many new guys who could care less about searching say that if you know the answer, giving it is just as quick/easy as telling someone to search. I do not have really and good ideas on how to deal with things but man am I annoyed by how things are going.

        Re: Serious Revamping

It seems that all the threads are either about seafoam, cold air induction, lid install I mean come on, and things that people who own cars should be able to do before you decide to mod. I mean I've changed things on my car using information I got from searching.... I feel better figuring it out on my own. I don't care to help people who ask questions when they know nothing about cars but when they ask "What is seafoam?" and all they have to do is put "seafoam" in the search and find the bible about it, then it gets to me.

No, apparantly providing all the information doesn't work, the exhaust/intake sticky is great, everything is covered and if everyone read that things would be better.

Lots of people have plans for there car, and it seems like they ask What Next? Maybe it would be beneficial to have someone keep a blog of there car build from the very beginning just to give a reference to those who are also modding. Basically one big one-stop review thread explaining the steps and procedures.

                Re: Serious Revamping

For the really simple stuff that's already stickied and covered, i've suggested this before.. I think we should have some kind of notice that they have to agree to by clicking something that says they aren't posting about something that is already covered in the sticky for the first like 15-20 posts that they have on the site. The n00bs are the ones that do it, and this could help cut down the useless threads that are so annoying in all the sections.

I think I'm going to go and start a seafoam thread. Maybe I should ask where the vacuum line I'm suppose to use is.

                        Re: Serious Revamping

even with stickies and all, noobs are still going to ask the same things over again.

Need to find a way to force them to read the stickies first before being allowed to post.

badinfluence- Also each car build is different so we couldn't have a blog of a build as each person has different goals, budget, car, etc. so that is out the window.

If the idea is to increase memberships why not open it up to other gm v6 platforms, create other sections for those vehicles. Cars such as the grand prixs, ams, etc.
