Thanks steve for your constructive criticism.

Comments and attitude make people.. Factual information, experience and technical specs make firebirdv6.

I was a newbie once too.. and I found a smaller site where I made home.. I spent much of my time there. Nobody ever mentioned the BIGGER site where all the experienced people were. Nobody mentioned it because the members of the board I was on were not welcome over there. They were the bridge burners.

When I found the bigger site I couldn't be happier.. But I spent so much time as a newbie on a smaller, less imformative site not knowing there was much more out there for me to read.

Smaller sites hurt the newbie, not us experienced people. The newbie finds such site and settles in thinking he is at THE best V6 site out there when in fact, he has yet to find firebirdv6.com.

I started on f-body.net. People made comments toward camaroz28.com as "the other" site.. I asked several times what "the other" site was but never got an answer.. well one day another newbie asked the same question and somebody did post camaroz28.com... I found that site and never went back to f-body.net

This is my story.

I hope the newbies find Firebirdv6.com well.

Mmmkay. Cute story. So, given your comments, it is safe to assume that:

a> I'm a newbie
b> am ignorant because I happen to like the other site with the "bridge burners"
c> you have no clue what I just told you, and are going to keep your god complex and continue to frighten people away. You represent the entire board, not just your ego.
d> Should just shut up, listen to the message from Mother Russia and take my solemn place on "the bigger board" since that's the thing to do.
e> All smaller sites are crap. This was a smaller site once.. Don't forget where you came from.

Good luck getting, or should I say keeping the newbies here with this kind of attitude.

Beats me. Are you? If so, welcome to the board! If not, how's it going?

b> am ignorant because I happen to like the other site with the "bridge burners"

How does that make you ignorant? I like ghetto rap.. well some, but I don't consider myself ghetto.

:( I don't speak on behalf of firebirdv6.com nor do I represent it. I believe the membership as a whole speaks for this site and it's represented by the knowledge that can be found here. If I am scaring you, I appologize.

d> Should just shut up, listen to the message from Mother Russia and take my solemn place on "the bigger board" since that's the thing to do.

I just want to see us collect more technical and factual information HERE about the v6 F-Body as opposed to other sites.

e> All smaller sites are crap. This was a smaller site once.. Don't forget where you came from.

This site blew up INSTANTLY. This site is exactly what the V6 f-body needed. We have everything we could need/want here. If there is something you think we are lacking.. Post in the website section!! I don't admin the site but if its technical or deals with the timeslips page I can gaurantee you I will listen and do what I can to help make the changes!

Good luck getting, or should I say keeping the newbies here with this kind of attitude.

I won't read into your sarcasm. I am very proud of firebirdv6.com AND its membership. In the past months I have seen major improvements. I see the knowledge base of the membership as a whole increasing. I watch newbies come here and ask questions, do searches, read and learn and then start to give advice based on what they learned here from others. I see posts being revived from years ago and discussions continuing. The knowledge and theories we apply to those old ideas have increased because we here at firebirdv6.com have learned a lot through debates and discussions.

Cant we all just get along? FBODYv6.com isnt hiding any "bigger" sites, infact, they have all the camarov6 sites linked in their weblinks column! Who is really trying to hide something...

Oh contrare, you are a moderator. You represent the board even more than the members do. It's not represented by the knowledge, it's the demeanor and attitudes of the people. And no, you sure aren't scaring me.

I just want to see us collect more technical and factual information HERE about the v6 F-Body as opposed to other sites.
Which was my point.. taking stabs at other sites and calling the members of them "outkast"'s doesn't further your agenda, it gives the appearance of immaturity and thus makes the corpus see the staff and "experts" as kids who couldn't possibly know what they are talking about.

Oh, I wasn't being sarcastic. I meant what I said. All I see lately is a bunch of people posting, three or four days later, someone else asks the same question. Everyone tells them to go do a search. That's correct, but why not just post a link to where someone can find the answer. That's called active moderation. I see very few debates and/or discussions. There was a great thread on cams a while back, and Sandman continues to help out people with his painting tutorial. The forced induction section has some good info as well, but the majority of the posts as I see are repeats.

As far as the membership/comraderie... I don't see it here. The clubs have some, but as a whole, I really don't see Fv6 sticking together. [/qb]

Cheer up Steve.
Oh, I'm just peachy. You shan't worry about that.

Regarding the Outkast comment... You really are making too much of it. I already sait it was a keyboard error. ;) Let it go....

Yea, you will get repeat posts. If we discussed only new topics, and never old topics, eventually we'd have nothing to talk about. Many members have more application specific questions however which do require their own thread.

Sometimes I would do searches for members and then post the links, but it does take a lot of time.

I do think we have a lot of comraderie. I have a firebirdv6.com banner on my windshild. I tell everybody about this site and I like to cheer on the mebership here when they achieve their goals!

If your a firebirdv6.com member, I'll give your questions/concerns more attention than I would if you were not a member, or perhaps a member of another site.. and if you were a member of another site I'd recomend this site to you!

I got your back steve. ;) How's that for comraderie.

Talk to TealV6 about banners.. I think he's working on making a new batch.. Check the website section.

When I was a newbie, I had a very hard time understanding that a differential WAS a carrier. When I was upgrading from 3.08's to 3.42's I wasn't sure if I should buy the SLP differential.. and then where to get the 3 series carrier. Finally it was Mike Levy I believe who cleared things up for me.

The differential IS the carrier.

beaches = Sand in the pants, and sand in the car, both of which I do not like I used to live abotu 10-15 min. away, it gets old.

back on topic, why does this have to be the one and only weboard to give good information? JSut having several boards spreads out the work. I know people have linked ot this board through www.fbodyv6.com we are trying to help v6 f-bodies, not just the ones tht go to this site?

also why do people believe that ww.fbodyv6.com has no specific details.

I mean the 4th fastest 3.8L and the 3rd fastest 3.4L are over ther and post pretty regularly. Plus many many others.

I mena I have doen some of the unsually desired mods like 4-wheels dick brake conversion, swapping rears with a v8 f-body. One of the few guys that ever autocross. ANd I am pretty good at trouble shooting problems. And I have played with and worked on more then one 3.8L, granted they were all pretty much 98+ but still its experience. And I figured accumulating nearly 6000 post on f-body web boards, I pikced up a few things.

Jeez the ways that people are wanting people to only go to this site almost makes you think the sponsors are paying big bucks to steve.
