so i have no idea what im gonna do now i guess ill order the batt and by the end of next week my big 3 will b 1/0awg so hopefully this will fix it.

Local welding shops have the best deals. But I'm sure there is quite a bit on Ebay or check out www.knukonceptz.com or darvex.com </font>
i got 5ft from knukonceptz and i just ordered 10ft of 1/0 welding cable for 8 bux off ebay much cheaper than 2.50 a foot. so do u think a new batt and the upgraded wiring would fix it?

im set on cable. and another thing is when i unlock the doors, open door, dome light comes on, and when i tap the brakes without the key in the ignition the dome light dims alot. so i guess its that batt.

I'd run dual 1/0 before I ran a single 4/0. First, 4/0 is just too damn big to fit anywhere. I seriously doubt it's gonna fit through any hole already in the firewall (1/0 can) which means you will have to drill a new huge hole and make sure it doesn't have any sharp edges. Hiding it under the carpet probably wouldn't be fun, but not too hard I guess. And lastly, nobody makes distribution block for 4/0 wire. You'd have to make your own out of brass parts.

Not sure. I've been watching this thread cause I've been having very similar symptoms myself. I have also replaced the alt. No change. I already have 1/0awg everywhere and a yellow top. Whenever I do anything that requires more juice (brakes, turn signal, etc.), my voltage meter dips badly....but then it comes back into the normal range. It's like my charging system can't respond fast enough....but my stereo is still kickin a$$. No dipping at all....strange.
The strange thing is, I never really have any trouble starting the car, so I'm having a hard time believing it's the battery.... my yellow top is roughly 3 years old......hmmmmm... new battery is about the only thing left..... :(

My system has two 1 farad caps. But that doesn't really make any difference if EVERYTHING I do is causing voltage drops.... a cap isin't going to fix your problem.
