Well I did some looking, alot of messuring, and more calculating. And I am not so sure if this box idea is going to work, its really close but I just don't know. I'm going to work on it a little more and have a friend look at it tomorrow and get a second opinion. If I can pull this off I'll be too happy, considering I already have the 4 new mb quart subs sitting next to me.

I figured SQ...however you're using four 10"s. I'm sure you'll get all your points for lowend. :D A little overkill anyone? :D

Like you don't already know, but keep in mind this is an SQ comp. They're not out to see how loud your system as a whole can go. One pair of components and a pair of 10"s will do the job for this. Focus less on cramming in gear and more on proper sound stage and placement. I assume your shop has an RTA?

Just curious, if you're using this car for competition, why limit yourself by keeping the t-top holders open? If you're gonna go... go all the way. Shoot for first. Blow everyone else out of the water. Do the best possible job. Ya know?

Well thats what I plan on doing with a civic I'm working on with my friend. We are completely rebuilding the dash, too include 10" subs in the kick panel almost. I plan on only running 2 subs for the comp, the other 2 are more for me... I am thinking about dropping dual 5.25" focal midbass speakers in each door to draw the bass forward, along with the compontents and morel supremo tweeters in the a-pilars, but I'm not sure how that will go due to the double gauge pod I have there. It's going to be a very interesting setup I want to do I know that for certain. Amp locations is going to be hard, but I think I figured everything out finally. I don't plan on scoreing really high with this one, more for the show of it can be done, and keep a vehicles use ability.

Have you seen Mic Fleetwoods 740 BMW? I don't remember the name of the shop that did it, but you can hardly tell there is a system in it, and from everything I have read about it, just amazing.

I know another guy that lives in Prior Lake owns a '99 Lincoln LS, he brought his car to a shop called Tekla in Burnsville MN about 40 miles from me, I've known the owner of that shop since the days I thought Rockford Fosgate was the best stuff on the planet without a doubt lol. That LS from inside you can't tell a whole lot, pop the trunk and he has 2 JL W7 12's 4 500/1s and I don't remember what they ran the rest off.. But that system scored like 4th in world championship SQ, and hits a heafty 137db I think it was. Obviosuly those 12's arn't hitting for the SQ. But they used focal mid bass in the doors, a focal 6m midrange actually under the front seats very odd, and morel supremo tweets in the pillars, just amazing some of the stuff those guys down there do. I would go to work for them, but being I own my own place, that would be a little silly. But I stop by often to check stuff out that they work on. I'm lucky to get a 5000-6000$ system, they get 150,000$ + 2-3 times a year..

And I forgot I should add this in, this car is my toy for about a year to finish off, and its going to be my little brothers 21st b-day present. I got my first camaro at 15, and he kinda always wanted one... Just waiting to make sure he grows up a bit so he doesn't go kill himself, I might have to move the system around anyways, cause I'm going to drop a 10 point in it mid summer, sparco seats and 4points

alright i got a box that i made in the back of my camaro and it holds 2 12 inch subwoofers and they both face on the same angle as the back window...im sure if you put two of them facing that way closer to the middle of the box youll be able to put one on either side of the box...if u want tell me ill send u a pic of the shape of the box...oh and u have all the t-top room and u see about an inch of the box in the rear veiw mirror so all ur loosing is that top shelf part, as for the amp i put mine in the middle if the back seat.

Check out what this guy did. You could do this for two of the subs.

Interesting setup for the 12's. I'm diggin' the old school PPI art series amps the guy is using.

Well after looking at the subthump boxes, I think I am going to use 2 stealth 10 boxes, the rear wall amp rack for my amps, and then build a box to fit directly behind the back seat, this will allow me to very easily fit all 4 10"s and maintain great area for amps and caps, plus keep t-top holder and my backseat perfectly! Can't wait to get this all done, should rock pretty good I think. For now I'm going to run the 4 mb quart 10's off a Rockford Type RF X6 850 watt sub amp, that should give em enough kick. I'll send pics once I'm done. The rockford amp will have to go later, but its the only extra one sitting I have thats powerful enough, I think I'm going to replace them with Mcintosh amps when the money comes in...

*The 400 watt 4 channel is a $2000 amp*
Its a class A amplifier rated at .005% distortion with a response 10-100,000hz at .1Db +/- yes .1!
Also draws 80 amps!

Want the best I guess you pay for it, in every way.

Thats gonna add alot of weight to your racecar nikos... you may have to cut the foam padding off the bottom of your carpet and take the light bulbs out to make up for that extra weight, so your car will still run 16's.

Lol yes I know very well it will add alot of weight. I also plan on quite a bit of work and money into performance. From the looks of it I might have to completely lose the subs anyways later because the roll cage might hit them... But in racing you can always strip the stereo out, its not hard to drop boxes and amp racks back in. Also wont professionaly race the car, only for messing around and having fun.
