12 dollar manual fan switch done! *instructions inside*
12 dollar manual fan switch done! *instructions inside*
I've been wanting a fan switch for a while, but $70 for a SLP is way too much. The one I made is the exact same, threw no ses light, and works perfect. And best of all is only around 12 bucks. :D Anyone can do it, it's amazingly easy. I know nothing about wiring and I did it, so if I can you can. Enjoy

No problem, you're just manually overriding what the PCM wants and so it kicks on the SES. No worries since it goes off after a while, and it doesn't harm performance one bit. Now this isn't the exact code which is thrown, but it explains the issue and shows how its not a performance decreasing deal.

Give me a couple days, at the moment it's just kinda hanging because I mounted it at the bottom of the ash tray but that blocks the shifter, still trying to work it out

I got the SES once, but it went away after just a few min, I figured it was a fluke. I've tested the switch many times since while the car is running, when it's not running, starting it with the fan on and I can't get it to throw the code at all, don't know why Either way Dom is right, even if it does come on it will go off. I don't plan on using it much anyway, just at the track, so even if it does throw a code it'll be ok. :D

I'm sure it would, but the wires might not be the same ones. I tried to find a wiring diagram of the 3.4 pcm but our tech database lists it as "comming soon". If you can find out what color the wires are for the fan speeds then it can be done. I'm sure someone on here has to know.

I think for the 3.4 you'll have to hook it up to a blue wire,I'm not sure
I got all the parts from radio shack and plan to do this sometime tonight or tommorrow, just one question. If I don't tap into the orange wire from the cig. lighter, then will the switch still turn the fans off when the engine is off/key is out? Seems to me it wouldn't, someone please correct me if I'm wrong.
Thanks
