Thats all I heard about the 98+ stuff fitting on the 97- cars.

then why have i once had 96 model year headers on my 00?

Because headers with a new Y pipe will work. He wanted them to bolt up to the stock Y pipe which I am not 100% sure is the same on the 98+ stuff.
All I told him to do was to do a test fit on the 98+ stuff. Before offering them. Just to be sure.
But it doesn't matter anyway now because he is making a whole Y-pipe and everything so It will fit all of them.
12sec - The stock cat input is pretty large anyways. I will only use a 2.75 cat at the largest though. The main thing he is enlarging is the pipes from each header to the actualy "Y". They will be 2.5 inch.
