Not sure what you said there or what it had to do with cutouts, but I hope the info helped you.

last questions where do the cutouts go I mean are they hooked up at the end of the y pipe like my dual tips are.

Im not looking at running nitrous much at all if I do go this route its only for me to have when someone wants to challenge me every now and then cuz I love my car its my daily driver wouldn't mine a extra hundred horses though without major upgrades.

My other option is buying the powerdyne supercharger with 6 psi it says that it will work on my stock camaro so I think I want have to change my exhaust. truthfully Im scared to change my exhaust because I hear all those ricey sounding exhaust like flowmaster and mine is stock but it sounds betterprobaly cuz its old and broke into but it dosent sound like a honda. Thanks for all the help though cuz I really need it when it comes to speed

I had a Flowmaster on my first 97 and it didnt sound ricey at all. I am getting another Flowmaster system again cuz it sounded so good. And yes, Borla is expensive, but you get what you pay for...1DV6 runs 12's...enough said. ;)

As I said before, the cutout is placed between the exhaust manifold and the catalytic converter. It has NOTHING to do with your dual tailpipes.

If you want to run a supercharger I again suggest a cut out or new exhaust. Now it probably wont do as much damage as quickly on stock exhaust as nitrous, but is WAY, WAY more expensive to supercharge it. It could run you about $4500 (ballpark figure, it will probabaly be more) for a supercharger and install.

Whenever you start putting larger amounts of power into the motor the first thing is to get it to breathe. I cant stress that enough! Plus you wont get the maximum amount of horsepower from the motor if it cant exhale.

You really need to think hard about this. What do you want more: a fast car or the sound of your car? That seems to be your issue. It is totally up to you as to what you want from your car. Personally, with a full cat back system, it will sound pretty sweet and if you add headers, even better! I am just warning you that if you dont upgrade your exhaust system and add nitrous, YOU WILL DAMAGE THE MOTOR. Nitrous is hard on a motor anyhow, let alone if you do not having the proper supporting mods.

Even if you dont want to run the nitrous a lot, only when "challenged" by someone else, it wont take much to damage it.

I'm not telling you what to do. Just think of what is more important to you: sound of the exhaust or being faster.

BTW Viper, that is a hella sweet set up! I knew a guy who had that on his Grand National. It is so much more convenient than getting out of the car and unbolting it manually.

okay shodown you convinced me about the cutout Im gonna get it you say I have a 2 inch pipe but the only ones I see is 2.5 so will this be a problem and will my car pass inspection when they hook it up to the machine. I wouldn't mine taking it off for that how much horsepower do they manually add to the car and should I get 2 since I have 2 pipes.

Sorry bout all the questions but you are a big help to me when I get my horsepower like I want it you will be the first one I tell I know its gonna take time but it will be worth it. Like I said Im not gonna run nitrous on my car hardly ever I just want the power when I want to use it to satisfy me

Okay, no you only need one cutout cuz the stock exhaust only collects to one y pipe.

No, your car will NOT pass inspection if the cutout is open. When you go to have the inspection just make sure it is closed. Simple.

As far as the the sizing goes...bit more complicated. I would talk to a muffler shop and tell them what you want to do. I dont know exactly how it works, but I am sure it can be done. It will take a little fabrication, but they would know the exact procedures for it. Thanks for listening and not blowing up your motor. I cant wait to hear your kill stories!

and ohhh how the list will grow ..as far as inspection..i have no cat and an open borla (the borla exhaust system basically has a cut out on one side)..i have no problem with inspection but i also have hp tuners to remove a couple codes..i would just go with what Showdown said..get a basic cat back and a cut out..close it during inspection and you should have no problem..they even sell electric ones that open and close with the flip of a switch

the cut out itself will not give you that much more horses..maybe a few..however..it will work much better with the nitrous..it will allow the nitrous to be used much more effectively with the higher flowing exhaust

It wont be a problem, but you only NEED one of them. If they are cheaper on eBay for two than for just one, get'em both and sell one of them.
