Go up about 10 posts and you'll see I mentioned that I finally smoked em up. It's easier on asphalt parking lots.

Damn thing still won't break loose. Maybe I've just had bum luck of finding the wrong asphault but it won't even start to break. I went into some dirt and did it and it got going but the brakes really didn't like letting go at first. Oh well that sucks.

lightly hold brake down so you don't roll
Release brake and hit gas at same time
jump back on brake 1/2 a second after you hit the gas and hold.

I can't do a brake stand (as we call it in Cali) unless I do it this way. Posi, good brakes, and good tires can make doing a brake stand really hard.

my M5 is easy as hell to break loose, when I want to... I have a powertrax locker, so both tires are spinning hard and fast... I actually broke my tranny mount also, launching at the track, so if the pavement's not slick, or I'm not in a curve, and the tires don't grab, I'm hopping all over the place, stuff's clanking and banging around... I should probly fix that and get some LCA's, but I have a new toy now, so it needs more attention (1974 Z28). I can only imagine if I had 3.73's in my 3.8...

Power breaking tends to be a bit harder on the car. Why dont you just do it the right way. Get a line lock. It will work much better.

Man I do not see the problem here. I don't give a F#ck I've been through like 8 tires from power braking and I have a m-5 I'll power brake that S#it anywhere. Sometimes my car spins one tire sometimes it spins both. My friend just got his street repaved about 5 months ago, it was our burnout box in front of his house we had it marked up beautifully, but then they covered it. I busted a PB all the way down his street. I started PB and slowly let off the brake untill I was moving and spinning the tire at the same time then I started swirving back and forth (only going like 5-10 mph it was loud as f#ck) all the way down his street the whole block. Those fools couldn't figure out how I did a burnout so far but now I showed them and my homie tears it up with his 98 tacoma all the time he's a friggin burnout psycho, serious thats all he ever talks about is burnouts. I'll give that up for tacomas they can take a beating like no other I've seen

Do you have to have a line-lock to do a burnout in a manual tranny?

whoa this is almost 2 years old... amazing it got brought up...

I ahve no problems, never had a problem with my 2.8L A4, never had a problem in my 92 4.3L Jimmy A4, never had a problem in my 94 3.4L M5 or my a's 00, 3.8L M5.

How to do brake stand.....

Foot on brake, mash gas, watch tires spin.

with 5-speed, clutch, in rpms up, drop clutch, floor gas, use clutch foot to slam brake.

this is funny cause I was trying to do this today, I think it has alot to do with the pavement. I did it on the street and 2 different parking lots and I could not do it unless the pavement was smooth.
Friggen pissed me off to, I was trying to show off for my friend who pulled up beside me and was playin like he wanted to race and I couldnt get the bastard cooper cobra gt tires to burn.

well I figured out that I was pushing the brakes way to hard. Now its extremely easy to make rubber BURN
