i cant quote everyone but my engine is just over 20K not to mention i have a tune,3.23 LSD,ALUMINUM DRIVE SHAFT,P&P TB so i think these can easily give me the extra 15 Torque i need from 235, and why does SMOKEPANTHER keep saying a tranny swap doesn't make your motor more powerful, we all know that douche im not a newbie man so slow your roll:spank:

You're right, but REAR WHEEL horse power/torque has absolutely nothing to do with how much power/torque the transmission can take from THE ENGINE.

You really believe that you gained 25 ft/lbs of torque from those mods? Sorry man, but you didnt. Considering the gears, LSD and driveshaft add 0 hp at the crank which I stated above is what is important in this thread.

Im not trying to p1ss in your cheerios here, but you need to see the big picture.

Sure you can. I did. There is a small button in between "quote" and "quick reply". Give it a try ;)

if you read what i said you would know it wasn't 25ftlbs but 15ftlbs which is easily attainable,BUT I KNOW THAT THE ALUM D/S DOES NOT ADD HP BUT IT PUTS 'MORE' POWER WHERE IT MATTERS,AND THAT IS THE WHEELS,TRY DYNOING YOU CAR WITH 2.73'S AND THEN 3.73'S,WHAT GETS TO THE WHEELS IS WHAT MATTERS, YOU CAN HAVE A EVO WITH 500HP BUT ONLY 76% OF IT HITS THE GROUND LEVING YOU SOMEWHERE IN THE 400 HP RANGE. PUT 22" CROME WHEELS ON YOU CAR AND DOESN'T IT GET SLOWER? YES DUE TO LOSS OF HP GOING THROUGH THE DRIVETRAIN AND THEN HITTING THE WHEELS, THATS WHY YOU DONT SEE DRAGSTERS WITH 22'S ON THERE CARS, THEY USE LIKE 15" RIMS WHICH GIVES LESS UNSPUN WEIGHT,DONT ARGUE WITH ME ON THIS ONE MAN. and i basically did use a butt dyno and i couldn't really care less if i was only making 50 ftlbs, just my daily driver, but i still love the car.

            First off, you're not starting at 235, you're starting at 225. 225 + 15 = 240, which does not match

            So yes, it would be 25, because 225 + 25 = 250

...now you're doing singing the praises of rwhp? Pick one frame of reference, and stick with it...do you want to talk in terms of rwhp or bhp? Not that really matters, since you're car isn't making 250 at either point

and i basically did use a butt dyno
we knew that without your admission, but thanks for confirming it

haha your a funny little quer, you know that? why are you soo bothered by how much power a v6 makes, grow some balls man, this is a "DAILY DRIVER" which means i drive it everyday to get from here.....^.....^.....to there......^....^..... but your ignorance shows that you probably dont have a life and want to think you have the fastest v6 of all time, ill drive the ls1 for speed and the v6 for fun, so dont get butt hurt that all you drive is a v6,you should probably drive a honda.btw you stupid **** i was replying to someone who said it should be at 235 ftlbs so to get from 235 to 250 you h.a.v.e t.o a.d.d ,,,15 you dumbass, stop using the calculator on the computer and use what little left of a brain.

                  Re: YEAH,WOW,YEAH lol

Richard, you have COMPLETELY lost sight of the original discussion. Let me lay it out for you. The T5 transmission is weak, plain and simple. 3rd gear and 5th gear cannot take much abuse before they explode.

The limit seems to be 250 ft/lbs of torque AT THE FLYWHEEL let me repeat that...250 ft/lbs of torque AT THE FLYWHEEL. Why would I emphasize this you ask? Because that is the type of power/torque that the transmission feels.

Are you with me so far?

Trust me, I've had my car dyno'd several times, I know how drive train loss works. It doesnt matter how much rear wheel horsepower/torque you have when discussing how much power/torque the tranny can withstand, yet you keep bringing it up for some reason Nobody is arguing that your current mods with a T5 will produce more rear wheel horsepower because you are right, but your mods will not produce more power/torque at the crank which is what is important in this discussion.

cam98maro is correct too. Dragsters use small wheels so they can fit a meatier tire for better traction.

Now, get your panties out of a bunch, search the forum and enjoy your car.

Man the discussions on these forums get so good sometimes! I'm a go get me some popcorn lol. OH yeah and Showdown where did you get that expression? lol I almost spit some water on my computer while I was drinking when I read the part where you were like "I'm not trying to piss in your cheerios here but you need to see the bigger picture" I'm a totally start saying that to my friends lol. Oh and Smoke Panther aren't you pushing about 250HP and 250TQ to the wheels that should be about 265-270 HP and TQ flywheel right? Haven't you've been running your car at this power for quite some time now? How has your transmission been taking the abuse?

No, you're still wrong for believing them. Your car's starting point isn't 235.

haha lmao good one man,lol i give you that one, and simple put, my car puts 200hp and 225 ftlbs stock so i was thinking with the tune and P&P, intake, exhaust(all mods that add HP) can mabe boost my torque to close to the 250 margin so to end this when i get a dyno ill post the figures, however it's not going to be close to 250 since it will be at the wheels so im looking for somewhere bout 215 to 225 at the wheels TQ. and since i have many dragster friends, it is to fit more side wall and also for the unspun weight, more so for bigger tires, like M/T's which would caterpolt your car, btw im going to run with a bunch of friends at moroso on the 26th, the following cars are,RED 05 GT,WHITE 06 GT,BLACK 05 GT,MAZDA 3,1995 Z28,1998 LS1 Z28,01 COBRA(NO BLOWER)TURBO ECLIPSE,EVO 8,07 GTI(DSG)MAZDA SPEED 6,AND A 1996 CAMARO 3.8 LOL at least i can take the mazda 3 and the gti but we will see what times i get, hopefully low 15's id love to get into the 14's but i still havent practice my launch since the swap, like 5 days ago:rolleyes:

you wont get 215-225 tq to the wheels... I believe smokepanther got about 248rwhp and 250 rwtq with a cam, full bolt on and tuning...and those were damn good numbers...
so I highly doubt that "tune and P&P, intake, exhaust" will net you much more then maybe 190ish rwtq...

That's awesome man! That just goes to show that the stock transmission could take a decent amount of power and abuse. Smoke Panther has been running his cammed setup which netted 250hp 250tq for 2 1/2 years now and if I'm correct I think he also has 4.10 gears? That's pretty decent for a T-5 transmission if you ask me. I know the flywheel numbers are higher also. So hey about that recommendation on going automatic I rather have a 300 and under horsepower and torque on the flywheel V6 T-5 than an automatic Not only that with weight reduction that's plenty to put you in the 13's.
