CLIFF NOTES: If overheating, turn it off!!

just watch your coolant temp, let it heat up to around the 195F area, then open the bleeder valve, keep it open till theres no more steam and just liquid coming out. refill radiator, repeat

k thanx. that was gonna bee my nxt question

        Re: overheating

your coolant hose that goes from the drivers side of the radiator to the top front of the drivers side engine has a screw in it at the metal thermostat housing at the engine

            Re: overheating

as soon as you start unscrewing it youll hear the pressure comeout, you dont wanna take it all the way off cuz fluid will then shoot out of the hole. just unscrew it a little so it can loose all the air pressure in the system. when just filling the radiator you dont typically have to bleed the system... but if you ever take off any hoses of that sort, its a definate.

            (edit)
went out and took a quick pic to show you where the screw is...

You might need to change the water pump. Mine would overheat also, so I changed the thermostat and flushed the system and it would still overheat. Once I put a new water pump on its been doing good and it was pretty easy to replace.

When it pegs the gauge, does the "check gauges" warning light also come on?

If not, I'd check the actual engine temp with a known-good gauge. It could be your sender is FUBAR.
